Ready, Steady.......GO!

The time has come

Well, this is it folks, im off. Today i leave for my BIG ADVENTURE!

Please all cross your fingers i make it through the airport without getting stung excess baggage charges ;)

But seriously, today is the first time ive felt excited so thats a really good thing. A few things to do here this morning, last minute clean up and such, then thats it, im off.

Ill fly out at 2:50pm, and it takes around 6 or 7 hours to Singapore, where i have a 3 hr stopover. So ill check any messages there. I then fly off to my new home and am due to arrive at 7.15 am local time. I will attempt to email from the airport to advise of my safe arrival, however it may have to wait til i gert to Mito. I will catch a bus there from the airport, and Erinn suggests that should take about 2 hrs, so on TUesday when you are all starting work, i shall be just getting settled at Erinns place and checking out my new home land :)

Thats it for now. Sorry for no pictures from the sayonara party but i forgot my camera, but thanks to all that came, and everyone ive seen and said goodbye to the last few weeks, and those i havent been able to see. Goodbye to you all and ill keep in touch online. Look forward to your emails and your visits to Japan when im settled ;)

Much Love

5 Days out....

final preparations

overcast

Well its 5 days out, and im starting the final preperations. Last minute packing, buying a few things i need, redirecting mail, etc....

My suitcase was 24.5kg, which ive had to reduce. It really wasnt easy but i guess i can buy anything i need over there, or have it sent to me. My carry on is very full and im sure overweight, but hopefully i can get away with that. Also my handbag is quite large and very very full, i even have shoes in there.

My dinner is tomorrow night, last chance to see some good friends before im off.

A few last minute issues, like getting my bed moved to mums, and a few other storage issues, but mostly all done.

I fly out at 2:50pm on Monday and im now getting very very nervous. Still having a few sleeping issues, one day i didnt sleep for 37 hrs.....although i slept in well the following day.

Well, thats it for now, probably will do one more post after my going away dinner, then that will most likely be it before i head off, the post after that will be from my new home.... :S

10 Days out...

overcast

Well its getting closer, 10 days away now. Ive packed several times, and im quite sure my luggage will be overweight, but ill just have to cop it. When is it here and think about it, i can think of probably several items i could take out...could...but will i, who knows?

I have still so much to organise, but its sort of coming together.

Im starting to get quite nervous, but excited at the same time. Im lucky the first part of my trip ill be seeing Erinn and with her experience, i think ill get into the swing of things fairly quickly.

I think the biggest provlem at the moment is i cant seem to sleep....i spend most of the time reading books, and peoples blogs and forums on living in Japan. I think its excitement, but also nervousness thats preventing the sleep.

The Sayonara party is coming up quickly. Thats next week, so ill add my first photos when that happens. A nice Japanese restaraunt in the valley, so should be fun.

Well i might go and try to get a few hours sleep before i have to get up and sort some things tomorrow.

Looking forward to adding much more exciting stories to this blog very very soon.

Organising, packing and Planning

Well,

I leave in 20 days. And i feel i still have so much to do. I dont know what to pack. What if i forget something?

Im hoping to fill my remaining 20 days with good times with my friends....Im going to miss them all.

I have the most important things sorted, job, visa, accom, etc, now its down to what to do with all my stuff here. Its scary packing up ur whole life into boxes...i know this isnt the first time ive done it, but somehow this time is so much harder.

Im looking foward to some amazing adventures in Japan, and hopefully a load of visitors.

Well this shall do for my initial post, just wanted to get this set up before i go. I think it will be good to be able to post on here so i feel a little closer to home, sharing my adventures with those who care to take a peek.
